Album Info:Sunrise on Friday September 12 in Winona found miserable low clouds and mist. I checked the UP (ex-C&NW) yard and found UP 1234 and 2024 in the yard. At Dodge Center, a passenger car painted in faded C&NW colors was resting on the ex-CGW stub. Even though the lead engine was still in CP red, I was pleased to find my first train west of Kasson in the midst of a crew change. I caught an HUCC train south of Owatanna from the Highway 14 overpass. In Waseca, the ex-M&StL depot has been remodeled and is in good condition as an office building. At Mankato, I caught a westbound led by ICE 6416 departing the UP's yard located just north of town. This train also had two CP engines that are on lease. In New Ulm, I found two ex-Soo GPs resting between assignments. I caught ICE 6413 leading an eastbound west of Walnut Grove. I shot a pair of abandoned elevators in town. I found an eastbound parked out in the country west of Tracy and east of Garvin led by ICE 6445. At Tracy, the ex-C&NW one-stall engine house is used by the DM&E as a maintenance base. On Saturday September 13, I found an eastbound parked at Tracy led by ICE 6448 just past a grade crossing with the train cut. Three BNSF units were resting near Springfield. ICE 6428 was found picking up some cars at the elevator east of Lamberton. Finally, while approaching Waseca, I heard the dispatcher talk to a westbound led by DME 6055. I found it parked on the east side of Waseca as darkness fell. I was pleased that the last train I saw on the DM&E before the CP merger was a solid set of DM&E engines

Description:  This facility is not used for locomotives anymore, bus as a base for track maintenance. On the C&NW, this stall was a few feet too short to house SD40-2s or longer engines. Thus engines were sent to Huron for maintenance.

Description:  This train is pulled eastbound past Tracy. Its tail cleared a crossing in Tracy by only a couple of car lengths. The train curves to the right out of sight.
