Album Info:As the Patchman continued his grim and relentless pursuit in 2003, I attempted to shoot every remaining engine still in C&NW colors, whether running on the UP or in service elsewhere. This was not an attempt to get prize-winning shots but only to catch these engines in classic C&NW locations while still possible. Anywhere in the Midwest was fair game on the chase, as you will note in the variety of locations. I had to take them as they were presented, including as trailing units and on cloudy days. Check back as I will add to this album frequently.

Description:  The large paper mill in Wisconsin Rapids buys approx. 50 coal trains per year. The trains are split into blocks of around 40 and staged at Adams. The final portion of the trip is on ex-Milwaukee Road track between Necedah and Wisconsin Rapids.
